With its realist focus on kinship, Happy New Year, Colin Burstead probably comes closest to Wheatley’s feature debut Down Terrace (2009) or perhaps to its follow-up Kill List (2011) – the latter also starring Maskell as a deeply flawed patriarch. The Burstead women run in all directions, cursing and weeping in the servants' quarters. I love Field in England, so happy people are watching it, Free Fire and High Rise didn't really work for me, let's hope this one lands.

Ben Wheatley is one of my very favorites, but I understand that pretty much every one of his movies are extremely polarizing.
