The graphics and overall presentation are good for the Quest. While you may need a great deal of VR callus to deal with the smooth motion of the game, Phantom: Covert Ops is VR stealth done right.

Whilst it’s all done very well, with nothing standing out as sub-par, it’s also pretty forgettable in terms of world-building. In later points in the game, these hiding points can become crucial to locate and go in between, yet I sometimes wish there weren’t as many of them in order to make some levels a little more challenging in easier difficulty modes. Taking on the game at a slightly slower pace did reduce this nausea, as did taking breaks between each of 20 to 30-minute mission length.

Dial-up the difficulty and enemies begin to listen out to the noises you make and you can’t take as many hits if any enemy fire comes your way. The audio is good, with plenty of atmosphere. Hopefully nDreams has enough success with this game to carry its vision into a sequel. This highly anticipated stealth shooter has finally been released, and if you can stomach its controls, it’s a great, immersive stealth action game for the Quest.
